What is communication? Introduction
First of all we must be clear what the meaning of communication and what are the different components. Cardona (1990) defines communication as the process that occurs between one or more people to send or receive information of any consequence. In this process information is exchanged, ideas and thoughts. Within communication requires a transmitter (speaker or writer of the message), a receiver (listener or receives the message), message (can be perceived through hearing, touch or sight) and the transmission medium (speech, telephone, computer paper.)
There are various processes of communication: intrapersonal communication
- occurs between a person and herself.
interpersonal communication - occurs between a person and the other (s).
collective communication - occurs among several people or groups.
As media types are: verbal
- through speech.
nonverbal - through body language. Written
- email, paper, etc.. References
